SEABROOK VALLEY

The Seabook Valley leads from the sea up to Cheriton and is brimming full of colour with wild flowers, butterflies and birds, all waiting to be discovered.

There is a Site of Special Scientific Interest (the Seabrook Stream) rich in wildlife of wet woodlands, and the County Wildlife Site of Paraker Wood, an ancient woodland with a colourful display of bluebells and other woodland wild flowers in spring.  A Pocket Park has been created from the part of Paraker Wood, owned by Shepway District Council.  The Pocket Park can be accessed from Spring Lane, off Horn Street.

There is a network of paths including the Elham Valley Way and the White Cliffs Countryside Project have created two circular walks - the Wellyboot Wander and the Woodland Wander.  You can find details of the walks in a free colour leaflet "Explore the Seabrook Valley" available from WCCP (01303 274806).  The walks start from the car park alongside the Royal Military Canal at Seabrook or by following the Mole route of the Corridors to the Countryside from Cheriton High Street.
