This event is part of WCCP's Summer Festival and is suitable for ages 5+, adults and families welcome. This is a drop in event- join us any time between 10am-12pm.

Take a venture along the sea wall with your eyes to the skies. You may see the fastest animal in the world zoom past, the Peregrine Falcon. There could be an appearance from the UK’s closest relative to an albatross, the Fulmar. Or we may spot House Martins flitting around the cliffs as they build their nest for the summer.

Samphire Hoe Ranger Paul will be equipped with a telescope and binoculars at the Dover end of the sea wall to help you become a master of sea bird identification. Learn some fun facts you’ll want to tell all of your friends about the birds that call this special place home!

This event is open to all ages. Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

This is a drop-in event, just turn up any time between 10 am and 12 pm, no need to book. This is a FREE event with donations gratefully appreciated.

Parking
Pay and Display Parking available in the main Samphire Hoe Car Park.

Toilets, including accessible toilets and changing facilities available at Samphire Hoe. This will be a short walk from the event site. 
Rebels Coffee cafe open 10 am - 4 pm

We are pleased to announce this event is wheelchair accessible. There is disabled parking available, as well as disabled toilets to use. 

Event Location - Samphire Hoe

Samphire Hoe Country Park was created at the foot of Shakespeare Cliff between Folkestone and Dover using chalk marl dug to create the Channel Tunnel. Opened in 1997 as a nature reserve and country park it is now a haven for wildlife and a centre for outdoor learning and events.

Habitats on site include chalk grassland, sea buckthorn scrub, ponds, rockpools and a pebble beach. Paths and a cycle route allow you to explore the site and a tea kiosk and indoor exhibition room with seating can be found near the car park.

The North Downs Way runs along the cliff top and links the site to Folkestone Warren Local Nature Reserve to the west.
