From the vast expanses of shingle on the Dungeness peninsular to the internationally rare chalk grasslands of Dover and Folkestone, we manage 14 nature reserves (nearly 1000 hectares) across the Dover and Folkestone districts of south-east Kent.

The south-east of Kent is rich in wildlife and home to diverse plant and animal communities with many rare and notable species. Being on the south coast and near the continent, means unusual migrant and pioneer species can often be found.
