High Meadow Orienteering Trail Official Launch

Join us on a free, family day at High Meadow Local Nature Reserve to launch the new orienteering trail across the site!
There's no need to book: just turn up on the day, get a map from staff at the meeting point and head out to explore.
White Cliffs Countryside Partnership (WCCP) received a ‘Tackling Inequalities in Physical Activities’ grant funding from Active Kent and Medway (formerly Kent Sport) to create new physical activities at High Meadow nature reserve, Dover, which included creating a new permanent 20 control point orienteering course- hosted by Dover Town Council.
The High Meadow course was devised by WCCP volunteer and Saxons Orienteering Club member, Simon Blanchflower, Simon created the layout and the map for the course, available here:

The two orienteering clubs in Kent, Saxons Orienteering Club and Dartford Orienteering Klubb are working together to deliver FYW courses in parks and open spaces near our major Kent towns and cities.

High Meadow Local Nature Reserve is an area of sloping chalk grassland and scrub grazed by Exmoor ponies, which rises above Buckland hospital in Dover. From the eastern end there are views of Dover Castle, the English Channel and the French coast.
The site is easily accessible on foot from Dover town centre and is only a ten-minute walk from Dover Priory train station. The site is managed on behalf of Dover Town Council.
