Join us at the Romney Warren for a captivating afternoon of pond dipping with Rangers Lewis and James where you'll uncover the hidden wonders beneath the water's surface. With a knowledgeable ranger by your side, you'll identify and learn about the fascinating creatures that inhabit the ponds. This hands-on experience promises to be both informative and thrilling.

Free parking at Romney Marsh Visitor Centre.

Health & safety considerations:

Children must be accompanied at all times. 

Please be aware that this event will navigate over uneven ground & non-tarmacked paths.

No dogs please.

Toilets available onsite.

Please bring sun-cream, sunhat, water and spare change of clothes in case you get wet!

Event Location - Romney Warren

Romney Warren Local Nature Reserve (LNR) and Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) surrounds the Romney Marsh Visitor Centre.

Previous land use involved sheep grazing and gravel extraction which has created dune grassland and seasonal ponds. These features now provide nationally important habitats for a range of wildlife.

The site is easy to explore with three circular waymarked nature trails; the dragonfly trail (0.2 miles), the rabbit trail (0.4 miles) and the sheep trail (1 mile) with information panels about the wildlife and history along the routes. Romney Warren is managed by Romney Marsh Countryside Partnership on behalf of Folkestone and Hythe District Council.
