Volunteer Lookers

Grazing animals play a vital role in managing our nature reserves for wildlife. We use a variety of species, including Dexter and Longhorn cattle, as well as Exmoor ponies and goats, to help maintain these habitats.

Volunteer Lookers (or livestock checkers) are essential in ensuring the health and welfare of these animals. They carry out visual checks and report any concerns to the relevant Ranger.

If you regularly visit one of our sites where livestock are present, we’d love to hear from you! Full training is provided, so you’ll know exactly what to look for.
